POWERBLADE BW4 Leaf Blower + LN4 Line Trimmer/Edger Combo
The POWERBLADE 20V garden combo pairs the BW4 cordless leaf blower with the LN4 line trimmer and lawn edger, along with one 20V 4.0Ah lithium-ion battery and fast charger.
It is primarily aimed at ordinary household garden maintenance rather than commercial landscaping. The POWERBLADE manual itself describes the equipment as intended for domestic or consumer use.
The published figures include 160km/h maximum blower airspeed, 280 CFM air volume, a 300mm trimmer cutting width, 1.6mm trimmer line, up to 28 minutes trimmer runtime and up to 11 minutes blower runtime.
The main attraction is convenience. Both tools share the same battery, there is no petrol mixing, and the trimmer converts between line trimming and edging. The limitation is also obvious: one battery is shared between two tools, and the blower’s published runtime is much shorter than the trimmer’s.
Testing statement: Firebusters has not personally tested this kit. Specifications and safety information are based on the current Edisons listing and POWERBLADE instruction manual checked in September 2026.

Important Source Note: Weight and Dimensions Conflict
There is an unusual specification conflict on the current retailer pages.
The main Edisons product page currently displays an overall product weight of 19kg together with dimensions that do not appear consistent with this two-tool handheld garden kit.
A current Woolworths Everyday Market listing supplied by Edisons Direct gives much more specific individual-tool figures:
- LN4 line trimmer: approximately 2.5kg with battery, 34cm wide and adjustable from approximately 102 to 128cm long.
- BW4 leaf blower: approximately 2kg with battery and around 95cm long.
Firebusters approach: we have not used the 19kg figure as the working tool weight. Because the retailer data conflicts, confirm current dimensions if storage space or tool weight is particularly important to you.
What Is Actually Included?
The current kit specification lists:
- 1 × POWERBLADE BW4 20V leaf blower;
- 1 × POWERBLADE LN4 20V line trimmer/edger;
- 1 × POWERBLADE 20V 4.0Ah lithium-ion battery; and
- 1 × fast charger.
The user manual is available online and the kit requires some minor assembly.
There is also a naming error in the current Edisons “In the Box” text, where the LN4 and BW4 tool descriptions appear to be swapped. Elsewhere on the same page and throughout the product manual, the models are clearly identified as the LN4 line trimmer and BW4 leaf blower.
One Battery Shared Between Two Tools
The kit includes one 20V 4.0Ah battery rather than one battery for each tool.
For many smaller gardens that may be completely adequate. You can trim and edge first, then move the battery into the blower to clear clippings from the path, driveway or patio.
However, the published runtime figures need to be understood correctly.
The LN4 is listed at up to 28 minutes, while the BW4 blower is listed at up to 11 minutes. These are individual maximum runtime claims under the supplier’s conditions, not a guarantee that one battery will give 28 minutes of trimming followed by another 11 minutes of blowing.
Actual battery duration can change with load, grass density, operating technique, battery temperature and battery condition.
If you regularly need both tools for longer sessions, a second compatible battery may provide more practical benefit than simply buying the kit for the headline runtime.
BW4 Leaf Blower: 160km/h and 280 CFM
The BW4 is rated at up to 160km/h airspeed and 280 CFM air volume.
Those two measurements describe different things. Airspeed indicates how quickly the air exits, while air volume indicates how much air is being moved.
For this type of compact cordless blower, the practical jobs are likely to include:
- moving dry grass clippings after mowing or edging;
- clearing dry leaves from patios and paths;
- tidying light debris from driveways;
- clearing around outdoor furniture; and
- final cleanup after trimming garden edges.
Wet leaves, large piles of compacted material and heavier debris are a more demanding job. A published 160km/h figure should not be interpreted as meaning the BW4 performs like a larger high-output petrol or professional battery blower.
The manual states that the blower is designed for clearing leaves and for consumer use.
LN4 Line Trimmer and Edger
The LN4 uses a 300mm cutting diameter and 1.6mm line. It is designed as a two-in-one tool that changes between conventional line trimming and lawn edging.
The current product description lists a five-position swivel head, adjustable auxiliary grip, telescopic shaft and guide wheel for edging.
These adjustments matter because a trimmer that suits the operator’s height is usually easier to control than one that forces constant bending or reaching.
The LN4 also uses an automatic line-feed system. The current manual explains that line is advanced when the switch trigger is operated, while manual line adjustment is also available.
This setup is aimed at routine lawn edges and ordinary grass rather than clearing dense woody weeds or large areas of heavy overgrowth.
Trimming or Edging: The Difference
In trimming mode, the rotating line cuts grass around fences, trees, garden borders and other places where the mower cannot easily reach.
In edging mode, the head orientation changes so the line can cut a neater boundary along paths or lawn edges. The LN4’s guide wheel is intended to make it easier to follow an edge consistently.
The retractable flower guard provides another useful feature around garden beds. It creates a physical reference that can help keep the cutting line away from flowers, small shrubs and other plants.
It is still possible to damage bark, irrigation lines, garden furniture or fencing with spinning trimmer line. Use the guard as an aid rather than assuming it makes contact harmless.
Line Trimmer Safety: Flying Debris
A line trimmer can throw stones, wire, glass fragments, sticks and other debris at high speed.
The POWERBLADE manual requires the guard to be fitted and instructs users to wear eye protection, long trousers and sturdy footwear.
Before trimming:
- inspect the area for stones, glass, wire and other loose objects;
- keep children, pets and bystanders away;
- make sure the protective guard is correctly installed;
- wear eye protection;
- use sturdy footwear and long trousers;
- keep hands and feet away from the rotating line; and
- remove the battery before clearing tangles or working on the trimmer head.
The published LN4 noise figure is 96dB. Hearing protection is sensible, particularly during extended use.
Leaf Blower Safety
The BW4 may look less hazardous than a cutting tool, but a blower can still throw dust, grit and small objects towards people.
The POWERBLADE manual says to use safety glasses or goggles and not to direct debris towards yourself or bystanders.
It also advises:
- keep children and pets away from the operating area;
- use the blower only in a dry location;
- do not use it in rain;
- keep the air openings clear;
- do not point the outlet towards people’s eyes or ears;
- do not place the running blower down on gravel;
- switch off and remove the battery before clearing a blockage; and
- maintain secure footing, particularly on slopes.
If the job produces significant dust, the manual also recommends suitable respiratory protection.
The 20V POWERBLADE Battery System
The supplied 4.0Ah battery is marketed as compatible across the broader POWERBLADE 20V range.
Current Edisons listings show the same system covering tools such as:
- BW4 leaf blower;
- LN4 line trimmer;
- SW6 mini chainsaw;
- SW7 mini chainsaw/pole saw;
- HH4 hedge trimmer; and
- other current 20V POWERBLADE tools.
This is potentially one of the kit’s strongest practical benefits. Once you have compatible batteries and chargers, buying another tool as a skin-only model may avoid unnecessary duplicate batteries.
Compatibility should still be confirmed against the exact current tool listing. Battery platforms can change over time, and the fact that two products carry the same brand does not automatically make every battery interchangeable.
90-Minute Charging
The included fast charger has a published full charge time of approximately 90 minutes.
The manual says the battery may arrive with some charge but should be fully charged before first use. It also instructs users to use authorised 20V lithium-ion batteries with the charger.
For safe battery handling:
- inspect the battery and charger before use;
- do not use damaged packs;
- keep the charger and battery dry;
- remove the battery before maintenance or adjustments;
- store the battery away from heat and ignition sources; and
- follow the manual rather than using an unrelated charger simply because the plug or battery shape appears similar.
Who Is This Kit Best Suited To?
| User / Property | Likely Fit |
|---|---|
| Small suburban garden | Good fit for routine edging, trimming and light cleanup. |
| Medium household block | Potentially suitable, although a spare battery may be useful if both tools are used heavily in one session. |
| Acreage | Better as a light-maintenance tool than the main vegetation-clearing system. |
| Commercial gardening | The manufacturer’s manual describes the equipment as domestic/consumer use, so it should not be treated as a commercial-duty kit. |
| Existing POWERBLADE 20V owner | Potentially stronger value because compatible batteries may already be available. |
Cordless vs Petrol Garden Tools
A cordless kit avoids fuel storage, two-stroke mixing, engine starting and combustion exhaust.
For quick jobs, that convenience can be more useful than maximum output. Insert the charged battery, complete the work and remove it when finished.
Petrol tools still have advantages where long continuous runtime, heavy vegetation or large properties demand greater capability. A cordless 20V tool should not be expected to replace every petrol blower or brush cutter.
The sensible choice depends on the job rather than the power source alone.
For a small lawn that needs 10 or 15 minutes of edge work and a quick driveway cleanup, petrol equipment can be unnecessary. For hours of vegetation work on acreage, one 20V battery may be frustrating.
Maintenance and Storage
Battery garden tools have fewer engine-maintenance requirements than petrol equipment, but they are not maintenance free.
Regularly:
- clean grass from the trimmer guard and head;
- check the trimmer line and spool;
- inspect the flower guard and edging wheel;
- remove debris from blower air openings;
- check handles, fasteners and adjustable joints;
- inspect the battery for damage;
- keep the charger clean and dry; and
- store the equipment somewhere dry and out of children’s reach.
Always remove the battery before working around the trimmer head, clearing a blower blockage or carrying out maintenance.
Buyer Checklist
- Confirm the kit SKU is GTCCLSPBBL2LT2A.
- Confirm the package includes the BW4 blower and LN4 trimmer/edger.
- Check that the 4.0Ah battery and fast charger are included.

- Expect up to 11 minutes published blower runtime.
- Consider a spare battery if you regularly use both tools in one session.
- Remember that the 160km/h and 280 CFM figures describe the blower’s published output, not performance against every type of debris.
- Use the LN4 for normal lawn trimming and edging rather than heavy brush clearing.
- Wear suitable eye and footwear protection.
- Consider hearing protection around the 96dB trimmer.
- Remove the battery before maintenance or clearing tangles.
- Do not use the blower in rain or wet conditions.

- Confirm current warranty and spare-parts arrangements.
Firebusters Practical Recommendation
The POWERBLADE BW4 and LN4 combo makes the most sense as a convenient household garden-maintenance package.
The trimmer’s 300mm cutting width, adjustable shaft and edging function cover the jobs most suburban owners perform after mowing. The blower then handles the final cleanup without needing a second power system.
The included 4.0Ah battery is more useful than a small starter battery, but runtime remains the main limitation. The blower is published at only up to 11 minutes per charge, and the same battery also powers the trimmer.
The broader POWERBLADE 20V battery system adds value if you expect to buy other compatible tools, because the battery and charger can potentially be shared.
Our recommendation: consider this combo for small to medium household gardens where convenient trimming, edging and light debris cleanup are more important than maximum runtime. For acreage, heavy vegetation or commercial work, look towards a higher-capacity battery platform or equipment designed for longer, more demanding use.
