The product titles describe the SMX-720 and SMX-920 as being supplied with two extension shafts.

However, the detailed product specifications, feature lists and current “In the Box” sections state three extension poles or shafts.

Firebusters approach: the detailed package information currently supports three extension shafts, but buyers who specifically need all three should confirm the current package with the retailer before purchase rather than relying solely on either version of the web listing.

MTM MTX900 62cc

The MTX900 uses a 12-inch sprocket-nose pole-saw bar with a published 3/8-inch pitch, .050-inch gauge and 44-link chain.

Its hedge trimmer uses a 450mm dual-oscillating blade with up to 270 degrees of adjustment across 12 positions.

The package lists one chainsaw attachment, one hedge-trimmer attachment, seven whipper-snipper/brush-cutter configurations, two extension shafts and an accessory kit.

Published product weight is 7.56kg, making it almost identical on paper to the 7.6kg BAUMR units.

What Does 7-in-1 or 9-in-1 Actually Mean?

This is one of the easiest specifications to misunderstand.

The numbers do not mean the package contains seven or nine completely different motorised garden machines.

The main powered functions across these kits are:

• pole chainsaw;
• hedge trimmer;
• line trimmer or whipper snipper; and
• brush cutter.

The higher attachment count comes from supplying different cutting heads, line heads or blades for the brush-cutter and trimmer function.

• Stop if wind or site conditions make the work difficult to control.
• Use professional arborist services where the work exceeds safe ground-based pruning.

Brush Cutter and Line Trimmer Safety

Brush cutters can throw stones, sticks, wire and other debris at significant speed.

Inspect the work area before starting and keep people and animals well outside the working zone.

Use the correct guard and cutting attachment for the job. Do not operate a blade or line head with a missing, damaged or incorrectly installed guard.

Suitable protection can include:

• eye protection and preferably face protection;
• hearing protection;
• heavy-duty gloves;
