News Article:
Alabama - A motorcycle and ATV shop on Alabama 21 just south of the Talladega-Calhoun
county line was gutted by fire Wednesday afternoon. The fire started in
a wood-burning furnace at the rear of the Mike's Bikes building and spread
to a pile of used tires next to the furnace, Oxford Fire Chief Gary Sparks
said.
The fire then spread into the building, sending smoke through the doors
and windows.
News Article Cont':
Employees managed to save some merchandise, including more than 20 motorcycles and four-wheeled ATVs.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 2:11 p.m. and had the fire under control in less than 20 minutes.
Sparks was unsure whether the building was still usable, but said that at the very least, the tin roof would have to be replaced.
No injuries were reported, Sparks said.
